What if I’m claustrophobic?
Floating can feel like outer space rather than being shut in a box. You’re always in control of your environment, and you may sit up and open the door at any time. People with claustrophobia often feel a sense of openness when inside a float tank.
Can I float if I’m pregnant?
Yes you can! Floating can relieve aches and pains caused by pregnancy. Consult your physician before floating.
Can I drown if I fall asleep in there?
No way! Some people fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant that you stay afloat. The shallow water, extreme buoyancy, and potential discomfort from lying face down in salt water is more than enough to wake up even the deepest of sleepers. To date, there has been no drownings in float tanks.
Is there anything I should do to prepare?
Don’t drink coffee or other beverages that can make your system jittery. Also, don’t shave or wax for at least 6 hours before, to prevent the salt water from irritating your skin. Be sure to eat a light meal or snack 60 – 90 minutes prior to the float to keep your stomach from growling during the float.
How clean is the water?
As clean as drinking water. Epsom salts are a natural disinfectant and kill the majority of harmful things that can survive in water. In addition, Pro Float uses UV technology along with traditional filtration, to create a continuous filtration cycle when the tank is not in use.
